"All sorrows can be born if you put them into a story or tell a story about them." -- Isak Dineson
In his essay "Man Made of Words" N. Scott
Momady, a Kiowa Elder, explains that we are
what we imagine. Words (invented sounds) help
us to express what we feel.

N. Scott Momaday is a famous poet who
understands how important it is that we tell our
story. He says, "Man tells stories in order to
understand his experience, whatever it may
be."

Every life is a story. Stories define us. They bind
us together in families and communities. They
give us purpose and meaning.
